For long term storage (more than 6 months), keep rice in the freezer. Because it is rich in healthy oils, it can go rancid if left for more than a few months at room temperature.
To cook brown rice, just put the rice in a cooking pan with twice the amount of water. Cover and cook on medium heat for 45 minutes. Do not stir, do not lift the lid. Ta-dah! Perfect brown rice!
