Q&A-Life of Fred

Questions and Answers for Life of Fred:

Where do I start?

If your child does not know addition and times tables, then start with book #1 (Apples) and work through all 10 elementary books in order, going at his own pace. If your student has fully mastered the addition and multiplication facts, then start with Fractions.

There is no hurry. Most 5th grade students have their math facts mastered, and can begin Fractions. But students of normal academic ability can begin Fractions in the 7th grade and finish Calculus before the end of high school. So, don't rush. Wherever your child fits into the program is fine.

How much teaching do I have to do?

In the elementary books, have fun reading them together with your child. All answers are included in the book, and nothing else is needed. The story is entertaining and will thoroughly teach your child math.

When your child starts Fractions (5th to 7th grade), you are retired, Mom. Well, from teaching math. Your student is supposed to read the book and do the problems and check the problems all by himself. He is old enough. Everything is included in the book. He will love it!
