Power Glide Foreign Language Program couldn't be easier to use! Just pop in the CDs, open the book, and the adventure begins! Without any work on my part, my children get excellent instruction by a native speaker in a fun, storytelling format. My kids have enjoyed this award winning program!
The most exciting way to learn a foreign language, "the immersion method", has been developed into a powerful teaching tool by university language professor, Robert W. Blair. The student is immediately drawn into a creative role-playing adventure. The workbook tracks along with the tape and contains enough English in beginning lessons so students don't feel lost. Student is rewarded as he masters a concept by earning clues in the adventure story—much more interesting than standard workbooks as this course uses native speakers, code-breaking, bilingual weave stories, drawing, humorous phrases, storytelling, grammar games, and native music and sound effects played in the background of the tapes. Great for homeschool as it requires no preparation time and it is easy to use the course for several children. Recommended use is just 20 minutes per day.
Junior Adventure Course( for children pre-K to 6th grades) We've been using and enjoying this foreign language program in our house. This is the children's version of the popular Powerglide and it is great! Why do I like it? My children are learning a foreign language in the best way possible, and without any work on my part. They just take the book, pop in the CDs, and the adventure begins. There are puzzles, games, humorous stories with sound effects and music—a multi-sensory activity for all types of learners. In an innovative "weaving" format, both English and foreign words are gradually mixed until the child can understand the foreign words in the story. Includes an Adventure Guide, 8 audio CD's, and a Parent's Guide. Follow the Adventure Guide while listening to the audio CD's. I hear my children mixing Spanish words in their conversations throughout the day from the good effects of this program—I like it a lot!
Ultimate Adventure Course (for 7th grades to adult) The Ultimate Adventure Course comes with an Adventure Guide, 9 audio CD's with native speakers (from different geographical regions so the students are able to hear different pitches and tones that they would hear in real world settings), and a comprehensive CD-ROM. The CD-ROM, designed to supplement the course, includes a Choose Your Own Adventure story, in which your student becomes the main character! He travels to different countries, finding himself in different settings, such as restaurants, airports, and hotels and giving him the opportunity to hear the language being spoken in different situations. The CD-ROM also has a foreign language/English dictionary, cultural information, and dozens of additional exercises and activities. The Academic Guide contains a course overview, extensive daily lesson plans, written tests, answer keys, and more. The Adventure Course integrates everything that Power Glide has to offer to help you speak a new language!
