Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes

Sadako was just two-years-old when the atom bomb was dropped on Hiroshima at the end of World War II; and dizzy spells began when she was twelve. She faced the "atomic bomb disease", leukemia, by focusing her energy on folding 1000 paper cranes. Japanese legend held that these cranes would prompt the gods to make her well again. A true and very touching story. Paperback, 64 pages.
