Hundred's Chart and Clock Face (one each) for Singapore Math
Singapore Math concepts can easily be demonstrated with Legos, blocks, crayons, and other household items, but I have found these manipulatives especially helpful. The Hundreds Chart is indispensible for levels 1-3 for learning such concepts as counting by 2's, 5's, 10's, and understanding how numbers 1-100 are ordered. A clock face that children can change the hands on easily is also quite essential. Tip: when you teach place value, it is most helpful to have a hands-on way to grasp it. I personally use pennies, dimes and dollar bills to effectively teach this in my homeschool. Lastly, for levels 4-6, your student will need a protractor, a compass, and a set of triangles. |
