Directions for making Pilgrim Hats
Pilgrim Girl's Hat

Use a 12 x 18" piece of white construction paper, cloth or felt (or tape 2 pieces of standard white paper together). Fold up 2" along one lengthwise edge of the paper. On the opposite lengthwise edge, measure and mark the 6" and 12" spot with a small mark. Cut 5" vertical slits at the marked spots, creating 3 "flaps". Take the outer two flaps and bring together. Pull the center flap over and staple it all together to shape the hat. Attach yarn to tie hat under the chin.

Pilgrim Boy's Hat

Cut out shape, as shown, and staple the headband portion to fit the boy's head. Glue on a gold or white "buckle".

Hi!
I am Diane Hopkins, mother of 7 children (ages 14 to 34) whom I have had the privilege of homeschooling over the past 23 years. I'm a mom, just like you, and have those fabulous days and those not-so-good days like we all do. My hope in writing is to share experiences, and hopefully we can encourage one another in this wonderful, intense adventure of childraising--that is really what homeschooling is, after all.
Hoping to help, if I can!
Love, Diane
